Sycamores as a backup linebacker as a senior
at ISU he had 7 solo tackles, and 10 assisted tackles, and one kick return for 16
yds.

-- Played in 10 games during the season, making 22 total tackles, including 13
solo stops ... Had one rush for 35 yards against Northern Iowa as part of a
play in which he recovered a blocked Indiana State punt and advanced the loose
ball for a first down to keep a scoring drive alive.
2009 -- Saw action in all 11 contests for the Sycamores as a backup linebacker
... Recorded 12 tackles on the season, including five solo stops ... Tied a
career-high with five tackles at Missouri State.
2008 -- Played in six games, recording seven total tackles, including four solo
stops ... Had a season-best five tackle outing at Youngstown State ... Forced a
fumble against the Penguins ... Recovered a fumble in the season finale against
Missouri State.

| Sophomore Year (2011-12) Appeared in all 10 games with 37 tackles to
earn his second varsity letter... had 22 solo stops, two
tackles-for-loss, one interception and one
forced fumble... tallied a career-high 11 tackles against Defiance (seven
solo)... added six tackles and a 26-yard interception return for a
touchdown at Kalamazoo... had 1.5 sacks at Bluffton and forced a
fumble against Mount St. Joseph... returned one kickoff for 18
yards.
Freshman Year (2010-11) Led Engineer special teams players with 18
tackles, including 13 solo efforts, to earn a varsity letter... named the team's Special Teams Kick Coverage Player of
the Year... also had his first career fumble recovery vs. Earlham...
had a career-high four solo tackles against Anderson... added three
solo hits vs. Hanover... rushed for four yards on two rushes vs.
Earlham.
Prep Career Rushed for 1,189 yards and 15
touchdowns in 2009... had a 90-yard run and had 324 yards in a

| 2015: First Alumni to sign a professional contract: Starting Quarterback for Orebro Black Knights in Sweden 2014: leading the Grizzlies to an 8-3 record and the program's fifth consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship. He was named the league's Offensive Most Valuable Player for the fall campaign after throwing for 3,127 yards and 31 touchdowns, while completing 67.9 percent of his passes. Welp also rushed for 366 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns.
2012: Served as backup quarterback and appeared in all 12 games as a sophomore...went 7-for-8 for 51 yards at Butler (9/8)...completed all three passes in a home Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory against Rose-Hulman (10/20)...tossed for a career-high 92 yards against Rose-Hulman...had two touchdown passes, recording one each against Butler and Rose-Hulman...rushed for 64 yards and a score in a road conference victory against Anderson (10/13)...gained a career-high 81 yards and rushed for two touchdowns in a home win over Earlham (9/22).2011: Appeared in four games as the backup quarterback during freshman season...went 9-for-13 with 75 yards and one touchdown pass...was 3-for-5 in a home conference victory against Anderson (10/29)...also had three completions at Earlham (11/5). | 2011 | |
