Braunecker chosen to Indiana all-star football game

Senior, Ben Braunecker, has been selected to the 2012 Grange Insurance Indiana North-South All-Star Football Classic. Braunecker will be a tight end for the South team. The game will be played July 13th at North Central High School in Indianapolis.

The contest, staged by the Indiana Football Coaches Association, features Indiana's best graduating senior football players. In addition, the event includes a meet-and-greet with Indianapolis Colts players and cheerleaders, games for children, prizes and halftime festivities.

Note: Joining Ben on the South roster is Indianapolis Roncalli's Cole Toner. Cole will be playing football with Ben at Harvard University in the fall.

Myers and Braunecker to play at next level

Two Forest Park seniors will continue their football careers at the college level.

Caleb Myers will be playing for the Campbellsville University Tigers and
Ben Braunecker, will be suiting up for the Harvard University Crimson.

We wish both of these "Brothers" the best of luck!

Braunecker named 2011 IFCA Academic All-State

The Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) named it's 2011-2012 Academic All-State Football Team on January 12th. Ben Braunecker, Forest Park senior wide receiver, received the Region 9 honors.

The IFCA honors senior players with a GPA of 3.40 and a minimum SAT of 1660 or ACT of 24.

Kordes and Braunecker receive 2011 all-state honorable mention honors

The Associated Press announced its all-state prep football teams on December 1st. Forest Park duo Lynk Kordes and Ben Braunecker were named honorable mention all-state at their respective positions.

Fuhs named head football coach

Wednesday night, the Southeast Dubois School Board approved the hiring of Ross Fuhs as Forest Park’s new football coach, a little more than a month after Terry Wagner retired after guiding the program through its first four varsity seasons. Now, Fuhs, a Huntingburg resident who will turn 27 Dec. 16, assumes command.

Fuhs, a 2003 Southridge graduate who was an all-state lineman on the 2002 Class 2A state runner-up team, served as the offensive and defensive line coach for the Rangers over the past three years.

Braunecker named All-Southwestern Indiana Player of the Year

The Courier & Press named Forest Park senior wide receiver, Ben Braunecker, Player of the Year on the All-Southwestern Indiana football team. He had 27 receptions for 644 yards (a 23.9 yards-per-catch average) and seven touchdowns. He also added two rushing touchdowns. He averaged 36.5 yards on four punt returns, with a 91-yard TD and 34 yards on kickoff returns with two touchdowns. Defensively, he added 44 tackles, two forced fumbles, four passes defended and three interceptions.

Kordes and Braunecker named to coaches' all-state football team

Forest Park defensive lineman Lynk Kordes and defensive back Ben Braunecker were selected 2A Senior all-staters. Joining them on the roster are Mater Dei running back Cody Hess and offensive lineman Bernie Boots, North Posey offensive lineman Bryce Koester and quaterback Colton Motz, Southridge offensive lineman Kyle Seger and linebacker Black Nordhoff.

Voted class 2A Junior all-staters were Mater Deis offensvie lineman Nathan Wright and Ben Polk, North Posey running backs Wes Harness and kicker Nick Neidig and Southridge defensive lineman Cody Moesner rounded out the area choices.

2011 Forest Park Football Banquet

Forest Park Ranger Football held their annual football banquet. A strong attendance filled the high school cafeteria. Award winners were as follows:

Ranger Football Patriarch Resigns Post

Forest Park’s first and only football coach, Terry Wagner, retired Wednesday when the Southeast Dubois School Board accepted his letter of resignation, almost six years to the day after signing to build the program from the ground up.

Rangers Named to 2011 PAC All-Conference Football Squad

The Pocket Athletic Conference (PAC) named its all-conference team football squad this week. Forest Park's senior wide receiver Ben Braunecker was named the conference MVP. Braunecker was also named on the offensive squad (end). On defense, the all-conference team includes senior Lynk Kordes (down lineman) and senior Miles Leonard (outside linebacker).
Senior Casey Abell received honorable mention.
