Rangers Beat Pike Central 51-7

Forest Park looked impressive on Friday 9/17/10 against Pike Central beating them 51-7. Junior wide receiver Ben Braunecker scored the first touch down from a 24 yard pass from senior quarterback Grant Welp with senior kicker Jonathan Russell making the extra point. Welp rushed for a 14 yard touch down and senior kicker Gina Bettag nailed the extra point. Welp then rushed for a 54 yard touchdown with freshman kicker Dakota Begle hitting the extra point. In the 2nd quarter, junior running back Dakota Geyer rushed for a 10 yard touch down with Russell hitting the extra point. Forest Park looked crisp in the 2nd half as well with junior Rhashaun Hurt running for a 5 yard touchdown and Bettag hitting another extra point. Sophomore running back Travis Schnell also ran for a 3 yard touchdown. Senior kicker Jonathan Russell hit a 34 yard field goal in the 4th quarter. There were several impressive defensive plays by Junior Varsity players in the 4th quarter and Braunecker ran back a 85 yard kick return. The Ranger defense looked strong the entire game with the exception of a 58 yard pass by Pike Central which allowed points on the board.
