Graduated from Clarksville High School in Clarksville, TN
Lettered in baseball, basketball, and football
Three year letterman at quarterback for the Clarksville High School Wildcats
Passed for a school record 2,364 yards and 19 touchdowns in his senior year and also rushed for 524 yard with nine scores to lead the Wildcats to the Tennessee State football playoffs
Selected as the 2004 All-Area Football Player of the Year
Named the TSSAA State Player of the Week on two occasions in 2004
Threw for 1,268 yards with 15 touchdowns and added four rushing touchdowns en route to earning All-Region and All-Area First team recognition as a junior
Named 2005 All-Area Baseball Co-Players of the Year and earned All-District 10 Baseball AAA and All-Area
Began his collegiate baseball career by redshirting at the University of Memphis in 2005 (Chose to attend Memphis over offers from Missouri, Mississippi State, Kentucky and a few others)
Transferred to the University of Southern Indiana where he was infielder for the Screaming Eagles baseball team and helped them earn the 2010 DII Baseball National Championship
Named to the 2010 NCAA DII Baseball Championship Series and the Midwest Regional All-Tournament teams
Played professional baseball for the Pittsfield Colonials in the Can-Am league where he was named on the All World Series team
Played infielder for the Dubois County Bombers where he was named to the Central Illinois Collegiate League All-Star team and helped the Bombers to a first place regular season and tournament crowns
Married Abby Leistner in 2010
